ok so this is my brothers truck and he knows nothing about autos i posted this before i went to actually look at the truck now i can give a more accurate description of what the truck is doing i removed the skid plates and sheilds on the bottom of the motor and i could see fresh oil but couldnt tell where it is coming from as it was not activly leaking (he could have just spilled a lot when filling it up) are there oil cooler lines that may have a leak in them? oil pan gasket? the other thing is that when it is running it makes a noticable tick/knocking noise as if it were low on oil and the tach and speedo show 0 when running the lights are really dim and almost kill the truck when i turn them on radio shuts off climate control unit shuts off sooooo what do we have here a bad ground? bad wiring? bad battery?bad computer? where should i start?
