Hello all,

Due to financial issues I sold my 4x4 and bought a RA 2006 3.0 TD.

I have now found it to be a tarted up cheapy that the seller had for a couple of months before selling it to me. All in all the body is good but I am a bit worried about the motor.

After picking it up I drove it the 85 k's home and found that the temperature gauge moves quite a bit -

60 kmh - 1/4
80kmh - 1/3
105 kmh - 1/2

Never got above half on a 17c day but the fluctuations are worrisome.

it drops back quickly (2 minutes) from half to a quarter when the speed drops from 105 to 60. It also takes around 10 minutes to get up to a 1/4 from a cold start.

The oil is clean which about exhausts my knowledge - I am having the timing belt replaced to be cautious as I can't get any info from the seller - any ideas on the temperature issue.?
