Default Fuel sending unit sensor, searched but..

Didnt find exactly what i was looking for, i bought the fuel level sensor that goes in the tank and connects to the float, but ive heard from diffrent people that theres a fuel access door in the trunk and others said i had to drop the tank, tryin to see which one is true because i have access to a lift and would have to schedule it but dont want to unless i can access it from the trunk. can anyone give me a quick answer, its a 2001 v6 ls rodeo, trying to tackle the job tommorrow if its a trunk access. also does anyone have and ebook haynes manual at all?

so i have switched out the whole fuel pump unit but now when i fill it up its leaks fuel, i took it back down and replaced the gasket, filled it up again and leaks still, and the check engine came back on for evap leak, so obv the fuel tank isnt sealing anymore, are u supposed to use a sealant with the gasket? i figure u dont because the fuel wud eat it away

It won't eat RTV sealant. Is it leaking from the ? (pump access panel). sure it's not from fuel line (injected motors run crazy high fuel pressure...
