I have a 96 rodeo. the 4wd doesn't engage and there is also a loud knocking noise coming from the engine. It also leaks oil and power steering. if anybody has these problems or knows about them please let me know

Assuming you havent run the engine out of oil and damaged the bearings the knocking is most likely the timing belt tensioner. Its fairly common and can sound like a rod knock. Replace the timing belt, tensioner, and water pump.

The leaks are a matter of tracking down where its leaking from and replacing the gasket or seal thats leaking.

I'm dont know alot about the gen 1.5 4wd system so will leave that for someone else. I know alot more about the 2nd gen systems.

Depends on where its leaking from. If its from the shaft seals then yes, replacement is easiest.

Mine started leaking where the larger hose from the reservoir goes into it. Removed 2 screws and replaced the o-ring under there and no more leak. Was much cheaper and easier then replacing the whole pump.
