Default Diagnostic Information from odb2 scan

My sons Isuzu Rodeo is having a misfire problem according to the odb2 scan. It has new plugs, I tried swapping the coils to different cylinders and it stays a misfire on cylinder 2. If I clear the code sometimes it runs several days just fine and then it will start again. Could the fuel injection be causing the problem? I notice in this scan the bank 1 and bank 2 are alot different, not sure if that means anything. Anyone have any ideas

Default Rodeo misfire

I had the same problem recurring on my '98 that has been on-and-off for the past 2 years. On a stroke of luck it began to misfire (PO301) while idling in the driveway. Mostly it misfires under a load. I began to unpack the right side fuel injector wire harness and as I unpeeled the tape holding the wires together at the front just under the #1 injector it began to fire again. It seems there is a wire broken inside the insulation, which I have yet to locate. Now that it is making contact again I can't find it. My next move is to get a harness off a recycled Rodeo and swap them out.

I dunno if this helps you or not, but your story was sounding way to familiar!

Good Luck,
John
