check/ change trans fluid
I had the same problem as you did but was finally able to figure
out how to check, drain, and refill AT fluid. Mine is a 1997 Honda
Passport 3.2L V6 but I believe still uses the same 4L30E transmission
as 1998. There is no dipstick on these models (blame it on GM) but an
overfill plug on the passenger side of the tranny that you check if
fluid is full. The problem is that I had to take out a bunch of stuff
before I could access that overfill plug..grrr...
