The alarm going off randomly is usually the hood switch. over time the bracket bends a little. Just a matter of bending it back up some. Another trouble spot is the tailgate switch. Placing a washer or 2 behind it usually takes care of it. I havent had that problem yet do dont know how hard it is to do.

hey thanks again! I will check the hood sensor first which is probably it - like I mentioned before when I had some loose screws it just took a sharp look at it and the alarm went off. jus' bending huh! I can do that < src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-44";

one more quest regarding the random alarm - I noticed the rubber covers of the door switches are cracked and the alarm just went nuts on a wet rainy day - could that be the issue?
I bent the hood switch and never noticed any more alarming, though it was dry ever since too.... and like mentioned before I unplugged the horn so I don't always notice anyway < src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-44";
urchinTracker();
</>

That could probably do it. Water might be getting in and causing a short circuit.
