Hi everybody!

got probs with that autolock and alarm - locks the vehicle after about 20 seconds or so on its own - I DONT WANT THAT! can I turn it off?
didn't used to do it though...
Alarm went off without reason too, its probably the hood sensor since the hood was kinda shaky - its tight now - anyway, tried to unplug the hood sensor- it wouldn't lock, figured its a closed circuit so bridged it (with a paperclip jumper ) didn't work either - any idea why?

don't be too hard on me - I'm a new rodeo rider )

p.s. don't have a signature yet - 2001 V6 2wd automatic < src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-44";

I think the auto lock "feature" is built into the alarm unit on '01+ rodeos. I'm not positive though. On my '99 they will lock after 30 seconds if I havent opened a door in that time after unlocking it, but doesnt lock it otherwise. < src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-44";

Mine does the autolock thing too. Except my driver side door has a problem with the sensors, so it doesn't realize when I open the door. I unlocked it once, hopped in and started to take apart the radio and all of the sudden it locked. I was a little confused and hit the unlock button on the door and set off the freaking alarm. I was a bit amused by that.

At least its not an oldsmobile. One of the guys I used to work with had one and it was built to lock the doors automatically when you turn on the ignition. There were no ***** either so no way to manually unlock them, just the unlock button. He went to leave work one night and his battery had just enough power to lock the doors then no power at all. Had to call us to get him out. Power windows and locks with no manual over ride and he was stuck inside LOL. Had to pull him backwards to get room to hook up some jumper cables.

here's another one man vs. metal: the "putyourdarnseatbelton"-gong is an annoying thing in my brothers car - won't stop, even gets louder and louder as you drive on unbelted. well he used to keep the passenger belt locked into the drivers belt lock with the comment "I don't let a machine tell me what to do!" - well the police sure did < src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-44";

oh I have another question - what does it take to get a new remote for the keyless entry?

Just buy a remote off ebay then program it the way it says to in the manual. If you dont have an owners manual there are also instructions in the faq. Thats what I did since I didnt get a remote when I bought my truck.

I found that in my rodeo, unplugging the switch thats in the drivers seat shuts up the seat belt gong and turns off the dash light. Doesnt really work in the new ford vans at work though, it shuts it up but makes the air bag light come on (probably causes them to not work as well). Luckily I dont have one of the new vans LOL.Edited by: Gizmo42

one more question - my alarm goes off outta nowhere, at least once a day. Now the car is pretty safe where it is, don't really need it and want to turn the alarm completely off until I find some time to look for a faulty sensor or something. Is it easy to do - like just pull a fuse or unplug something and will the keyless entry then still work?

(I think I already read something somewhere but can't find it anymore )

p.s. I guess I could just unplug the horn and let her blink as much as she wants hehehe < src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-44";
urchinTracker();

well I just answered that question myself - I did unplug the horn and everything is fine - the alarm seems to be completly off, remote still works, but not even a blink when I manually open a door...

sorry for spamming the forum without thinking....
