ac compressor does not engage

2001 rodeo 2.2l ac compressor will not engage.Local mechanic says it's the ac electronic thermostat.Does any one know the cost and where to find one. Thanks

mine did the same thing...but it was just the relay in the fuse box under the hood....i have a haynes manual at home and i can check what you are talking about later
