My stepdad owned my passport before I did and when he gave it to me he said it had an oil leak coming from the rear main seal. I have a collection of oil on the floor of my garage to prove there is a leak. He said it started leaking because he overfilled the oil when changing it. Can overfilling it cause a leak? Or is it just high mileage and worn seals(128,000 miles)? Have you guys ever used stop leak? I usually go through an extra quart of oil before my next oil change, so its not real bad. < src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" =text/> </>< =text/> _uacct = "UA-939292-44"; urchinTracker(); </>

Over filling could do it. It will cause pressure to be a bit higher. Could be age too. Some seals will last forever others will wear quickly, no real reason why. I dont like stop leak. It tends to cause other problems. If its the type that expands seals then other seals that arent leaking might wear faster. You also might want to check/replace the PCV valve. If its bad it will cause the crankcase to over pressurize and cause things to leak.
