What would be some good speakers to replace the rear speakers in a 94 passport ex? I just want some direct replacements for the factory speaker boxes back there. I'm thinking some 4" alpine SPS-100A's would work. I don't know the specs of the stock speakers though.Edited by: passport105

The stock rear spakers are 4" round speakers and good for about 15watts, if you are still going to be useing the stock headunit i would not buy speakers that are rated for more than 50 watts, because it is very easy to damage a speaker by underpowering it, and the stock unit puts out 20 watts per channel, so if you buy a high quality set about 100 watts, they will not only be very quiet, but they will more than likely become very distorted, on the other hand, in you are planning on putting in or already have an aftermarket stereo, which is very easy to install yourself if you dont have one, it should be putting out about 22watts RMS and about 45-60 watts peak power and will power a higher end speaker and the quality will be a lot better, i have had amazingly good luck with Infinity, they have yet to let me down no matter how hard i run them, and they are very nicely priced, hopefully some of this can help, good luck to you!!!

oh yeah, if you want to get better sound you can also cut out part of the inside of the stock speaker box and make a 5 1/4" speaker fit, but i know you said you said you didnt want to do any mods, but i just figured i throw it in here

hey, those are the specs for the alpine right? the original speakers that came from the factory should be about 20watts, and those alpines are very nice speakers, and at 25watts RMS, it should probably be ok to run off a stock headunit, but i would recommend a aftermarket, if you dont already have one, anyways, sorry for the confusion, hope that helps and good luck!!
