I have a 94 2wd Rodeo and I think I want to do some things to it. I was wondering if raising it would be worth the effort seeing as it is not a 4x4? Also, I was wondering if it is possible to have Airbags installed on it, and how much it would cost. I know it would be expensive, but I just want numbers to go by. Thanks all.

 

I know of some ppl that have lifted their 2wds. Rodeos sit pretty low so depending on what kind of driving or the look you are going for it can be worth it. check Indy4x for lift kits or parts.

Dont know how much airbags would cost but wouldnt really be worth it. The whole dash, probably wiring, and other things would have to be changed. Unless you buy a whole parts truck and do it yourself it would probably cost more then the rodeo is worth. I dont like airbags any way though.

Ok cool, thanks for the info. The site looks great. One more question for now. I was wondering what the best way to increase acceleration and top speed is. Any suggestions?

 

The best way is to get one of THESE[img]smileys/smiley15.gif[/img]

More relisticaly you can get a larger free flowing exhaust. 2.25 or 2.5" pipe from the cats back and a flowmaster or magnaflow muffler. Will be louder though (flowmaster 50 series isnt loud but has some sound). And get better flowing intake. Wont get alot more power but some. Then you can also get your ECU reprogrammed by Jet Chips to match what you have done. Thats about $275 but will add a bit more.

You wont get alot of top end speed. Its a heavy truck based SUV, not a performance car. You also have one of the lower power 3.2s. '93-'95 had 175 hp, '96-'97 had 190 hp, '98-03 had 204 hp. Replacing the engine in yours to the newer ones would require lots of work and all the wiring plus ECU from the newer one though (OBDI vs OBDII systems). For that much work and expense would probably be better to put in a GM 4.3l v-6.

Wow ok thanks. A bit more complicated than I thought. I think I'll stick to tinkering with little stuff until I can buy a car and make the Rodeo a project truck. Thanks for the info. Greatly appreciated.
