My friend has the 91 Isuzu Pickup 4X4 with the 3.1 liter engine. Anyways that engine is bad and needs to be replaced. Does theRodeo 3.2 liter fit in that truck what mods need to be done? There doesn't seem to be any info on this. TIA for any help.

yup, the transmission should bolt up regardless if it is a auto or 5 speed, the 3.2l uses the same GM 60* bolt pattern, you may need to change motor mounts, but the main issue is going to be switching over the computer and wiring, the 3.1 is a TBI engine and the 3.2 is a MPFI engine which means a lot more wiring and electronics, i like the 3.2 but my honest advice would be to either rebuild the 3.1 or yank one out of another vehicle, GM made the 3.1 for alot of years and they are very easy to obtain, also you can use a GM 2.8l, 3.4l, 3.8l, 4.0l, 4.6l northstar, and 4.9 cadillac engines, also the isuzu 3.5 gas engine should bolt up to that transmission, they all use the same bolt pattern for the bellhousing but other mods may be needed to make the engine work correctly, including the starter location, depending on what engine you get the starter may be bolted to the wrong side of the engine, but honestly the fastest easiest way is going to be to stick with a 3.1, a 2.8 should be just as easy because they are identicle, but the 2.8 have less guts to them, so i would stick to 3.1, hope some of that info helps you and good luck!!Edited by: nate783
