2001 Rodeo LS 3.2. automatic. Battery went bad. One week later alternator went bad. Battery and brake light came on. New battery, new alternator, new 2 wire plug for alternator. Was charging 14.3V. 5 miles later charging 11.8V. Exchanged alternator and same thing, normal charge then dropped. Noticed battery light does not come on when key is turned or when car is running. Brake light comes on when you pull the brake. I took apart the cluster and checked the bulb. 12V to the alternator and 11.8V to the 2 wire plug when ingnition is on. Checked every fuse and relay. Even swaped ECM. Last night checked all lights and switches and all work except gear shift light is not on and I can shift into any gear without putting my foot on the brake. Can it be the shift lock relay? Any thoughts, this is driving me crazy.
