1996 Rodeo
#1
I just purchased a 1996 Rodeo with 127,000 miles. It is the LS model with V6, leather, cruise, power windows/locks, sunroof, etc... I paid $200 for it.
The previous owner had recently spent around $1,500 on the vehiclereplacing rotors and pads, and some axle work was done. The transmission was re-built three years ago.
The Rodeo is burning oil at about 1 quart every 2,000 miles and it has the infamous ISUZU engine tap.
I am noticing a strong oil like smell when I run the heater. Any ideas why or where this odor is coming from?
Also, the drivers side power door lock is not working so I have to open the passenger side and crawl across. Any ideas on how to diagnose this problem?
Looking forward to chatting with all of you.

look for the valve cover on the right hand is (passenger side ) the valve covers leak and you can smell it also the oil filter adapter leaks,
on the door lock remove the door panel and ck the accuator ck for power and ground if you have both it is a bad accuator
