1995 3.2L into a 1998 ?
From all of my research I would say that there is absolutely no change in motor design between the 95 and 98 models. Should just be some body changes. Check with you local dealership for an exact answer but Once they pull out the micro fische and look I would bet it's all the same, wiring and all.
What are the main differences between thetwo other than the obvious SOHC and DOHC??? I realize that the two are a different motor internally and I guess I should have stated that but I was really referencing whether it would bolt in to the best of my knowlege.Trying to get a straight answer out of anyone for motor swaps for Rodeos has been near impossible for me. According to the dealership I was referencing with the basic external design was the same between the old 3.2 and new one and it should bolt straight in with out modification except for some sensors and possibly the wiring harness. This apparently also held true for swapping a 99 with a 2002 but when I asked about upgrading to a 3.5 from a 2004 to swap out with my 99 3.2 they were clueless because the Rodeo stopped production in canada in 2002. Also, from what I have read there were internal changes to the 3.2 in 2003 to correct the oil problem and the 3.5 is just a stroked out version of that 3.2 with VVT. When doing diggin around on other sites I even came across one person who claimed that the 3.5 was a Honda motor. Needless to say there is a reason I mentioned in the last post that he should check with his local dealership to confirm.
Anyways, do you know if the external design of the newer 3.2 or 3.5 (post 2003) is different from a 99 3.2???
That I'm not sure of. Your best bet for answers is problably to go to planetisuzoo.com or the isuzu section of 4x4wire.com and send a pm to Jerry Lemond (jlemond). He was an instructor for isuzu techs for over 20 yrs and knows more about isuzus then anyone else you'll ever meet.
