AFter thumbing throug 13 pages and not finding a answer specific to what I am after. My 01 is having a tough time turning over. at first I cleaned the posts and that seem to do the trick for about a day until corossion set in again. Cleaned it up put some wd 40 on the posts and continue to have the problem. Then I thought maybe it was the battery; tested it and it is 12.55 volts so its good.

Has anyone had this problem? Is it the starter or relay? How do I find the starter and take it out to get it tested? Thanks

There are two bolts that hold the starter to the engine. You''ll need to crawl under the car. There are also wires that ground the starter and power it from the battery that you''ll need to remove too. It''s on the driver side when you look from below, next to the exhaust manifold and downpipe. If you''re still not sure, get a shop manual, or lookup the online repair manual on autozone.com.
