Default 99 Trooper knocking

Hey guys new to the forum needed some help. So about a week ago my 99 Trooper started knocking. I figured it was the rod bearings and decided to try and do it myself. However, I don't know why I didn't do this first, I decided to run the codes and found P0401. The part that struck me is that I read that P0401 couldbe caused from am exhaust leak. I also know an exhaust leak can make it sound d like the engine is knocking. Car has over 200k miles and really don't want to do rod bearings. Any suggestions

Default Update!!!

Ok so I know Im not supposed to drive it in case it is a spin bearing, however my wife needed to get to work and I took my car to work. BUT, o. Her way to work today my wife called me and asked if the car was supposed to sound like a motorcycle. Confused, as you probably are right now I assumed she had thrown and that was the end of our trooper. She. I went to her work to try and start it. As I turned the ignition I heard the thundering crackle of the biggest exhaust leak ever. Instantly I got a huge grin on my face. Tomorrow I'm going to try and find the leak, buy some new pipe and weld it shut. Hopefully this solves the knocking, which come tothink about it is more of a ticking than anything. So hopefully thats the problem.
