Default 93 Trooper won't start

I replaced the starter on my 3.2 SOHC and hooked my battery back up to check the starter before I replaced the exhaust pipe. I heard a small backfire and did not try to restart until pipe was back on. Now truck will not start unless I pour gas into intake. I have changed fuel filter. I ran a hotwire to fuel pump and fuel pump is working but otherwise I pump will not engage. Please help. THANKS

there is a air lock in your vehicle .
don't start the vehicle when it air locks.
change the oil filter and try again .

Thanks for the response guys. I changed the oil and filter but my baby still won't start. One thing I didn't mention was that while changing the starter I dis-connected the O2 connection and cleaned it with electrical cleaner. What ya'll think?
