have a 1996 trooper w/3.2L motor, recently purchased, has no oil pressure when warm, apprxo, 45 psi when cold, engine has slight rattle at idle, louder at 2000rpm,installed new oil pump, new pump did not help the problem, motor run goods, have tried numerous oil additives & no help, any ideas? Main bearings? would heavier oil help or hurt?

i have had very similar problems with my 94 rodeo with a 3.2, mine ended up being rod bearings were very worn and caused the drop in oil pressure, my current rodeo has the same problem now, i run 4 quarts of mobil 1 15w-50 with 2 quarts of lucas heavy duty oil stabalizer and it made it happy and all has been well for about 1 year now, hope that helps
