Bighorn Backlight Wiring
I have just posted but nothing has appeared so I will try again and if this doubles I apologise I have had a 1996 3.1 TD Isuzu Bighorn Plaisir SWB manual transmission for over 3 years and after harassment from several motorists last week every time I turned right I decided to check the lights this evening and with the right indicator on the back indicator is barely visible flashing but also the reversing light is barely visible flashing with it so obviously faulty but the front ones are ok. I took out the whole back light unit with the three screws and I noticed black and white wires on the top bulb and bottom bulb but they have been stripped of their insulation halfway down the wire and both the top and bottom wires have been joined with a piece of black tape where the insulation is stripped but the black tape had come adrift and I am wondering if this is reason for the failure of the indicator to work properly ? I can only speculate that the black and white wires are some sort of Earth and by joining them again and placing some new tape over them could possibly remedy the situation but then again it doesn't quite sound right to me but the previous owner was quite adept at reversing into objects and both rear lights have been replaced in previous years If I don't hear a response I will try taping the wire together to see if it either fixes the issue or blows the fuse box to pieces. Thanks MiSSY
