Default Washer repair

Hey All,
The windshield washer doesn't work [on my 2002 Trooper]. The pump motor is good - I jumpered it directly to the battery. I'm thinking I may need to repair the switch since I can't find a replacement stalk with intermittent wipers and cruise control. Nothing on Facebook, no Haynes manual and no Trooper newer that 1996 in the junk yard. Anyone tackle this job before? I don't like not having washer fluid available but don't want to ruin it trying to fix it.

Since the pump is good, why not just wire up a separate switch to it, that would be much easier than replacing the factory assembly, if you could even get it. Just mount a push button switch on the dash.
