Turbo My Amigo?

Hello all. I have a '98 Amigo 2.2L, 5-speed and I'm lookin' to have a
little fun with it. I'm thinking about putting some boost to that
biznatch. Now keep in mind this isn't my first project. I've put a VR6
out a '96 Passat and put it in an '86 Golf from the junkyard. I've also
put a Saab T3 turbo
on an OBD1 2.0 8v in a non-OBD car running 10-11 psi. all day long.
I've also done the same thing with an '84 VW diesel, same basic turbo
setup and all.
Now here's what I would like to know. I know
the MAF will read the extra air coming in, but will it know what to do
with that much air? How strong are our bottom ends?
I'm gonna
start with 6 lbs. of boost and go from there. Seeing how much you guyz
worry about your hard/soft tops so much, you may not be much help. I'll
be posting everything on this lovely forum for you allz enjoyment.

Finding mechanical info about these motors is hard. I have a hard time finding even specs about my 94 amigo. I like it because it's easy to work on, but not much customizing options.

Have you thought of getting a turbo motor out of an Impulse. They are practically the same motor. There's are a couple of guys on IsuzuPup.com which have done exactly what your talking about. Might want to check it out. Let us know how your project goes.
