I was informed that it is considered "within mechnical specs" for the
Isuzu 3.2 V6 to consume 1 qt of oil every 900 miles. Is this correct?!?!

That is what the dealer told me as well. They did finally decide to give me a new engine on my 2004 Isuzu Rodeo because it was drinking it up so fast.

My 98 Amigo with 3.2 has 62K miles on it and will consume about 1 qt every 1000 miles. It runs great. Passes all of the emissions checks with flying colors, doesn't leak, but....

This is an update. I have found that my 98 Amigo with V6 will consume oil with highway driving VERY rapidly. Around town, it may consume a quart of oil every three or four tanks of gas. But both times I have driven it on 5 - 6 hour drives at turnpike speeds, it has consumed 3 - 3 1/2 quarts in the one trip. I don't know if it is because of the high vacuum when decellerating at turnpike speeds? Lots of on and off of the gas?? Any thoughts? Help?
