Under normal driving conditions, at approximately 2500-3000RPMs, when Idisengage the engine/push in the clutch as I approach a red light, my engine will "struggle" as it drops in the rpms and will often stall because it won't idle correctly.

I've tuned the fuel and idle screws in various positions and nothing seems to eliminate the problem. It idles relatively well but stalls under driving conditions.

My truck also failed the Texas emissions test too, going way over on hydrocarbon emissions at idle but ironically passing on the carbon monoxide portion.

Anyone out there experience this problem or have any advice?

Hey just from my personal experiance those carbs are horrible if you have any kind of miles on it you might consider an overhaul on the carb or even a new one that will most likely fix your problem a cheaper possability would be the coolant temp sensor any light coming on ?

The previous owner installeda recently rebuilt carb (I'm assuming it's identical to the carb that was on there.)

Another 91 Isuzu pup owner told me he had a similar problem and his truck ran much better after installing a new Mixture Control Valve.

Know about this?
