I recently removed the head to find two burnt exhuast valves. Had em replaced and checked the head for cracks and none were found. Put the head back on set the timing and no luck. Turned over and backfired a few times. No start. people tell me everything is in right order. Anyone know what else could cause this. Maybe spark plug wires not placed right?

IF IT IS BACKFIRING IN THE CARB OR EFI UNIT YOU HAVE THE CAM TIMING OFF, THIS ENG TIMES OFF NO 4 CYL NOT NO ONE, IF YOU LINED UP ALL THE TIMEING MARKS ON THE CAM AND THE CRANKSHAFT AND THEN PUT THE DIST IN ON NO ONE IT IS 180 DEGREES OUT, LINE UP THE MARKS AGAIN AND PUT THE DIST IN POINTED TO NO 4 CYL, AND IT SHOULD LITE RIGHT OFF.
