I''ve been to several parts stores and they can''t get anything on their scan tool.the scan tool will not even turn on.But my check engine light is on. Is there a fuse or relay that gives power to the scan connection.Any ideas to what would cause this. Ican''t figure out what relay or fuse that might cause this even with the book at hand. I noticed after reseting the computer that the engine light comes on at about 65-70mph.

 

disconnect the postive battery for about8 hours. Edited by: Bryantm38

 

What will that do? Why is that different than just disconecting the battery?

 

That allows the entire ECM to reset and clear all stored codes.

 

Turns out it was the IAC or whatever you call it. Idle control valve. I sprayed it out and everything went OK. Only thing is the computer would still not read. Anyways, I sold it and bought a VehiCross.

 

ahhhh yes the Idle Air Control valve.... Interesting didn''t think of that.... Well congrats on the vehicross purchase hope it brings you years of enjoyment
