92 amigo no spark,starting problems!
#1
Hi Isuzu Gruru's.
I just purchased a 92 amigo 2.6 4x4
Details of car. a guy found a body on his property, had a rebuilt
engine installed and never drove it. it still had sticker residue on
the tires! but he let it sit for 2 years.
It needed a new battery and after installing one it ran great.
plenty of power in the young motor.
late last night driving i noticed it would miss when under load and
high RPMS. I thought ok, i'll do a tune up tomorrow. i drove it to work
this morning planning to get tune up parts on the way home. when
driving i was at a stop light and idling fine. when i started to leave
the line it died. i started it again and it died. then it would only
crank.
towed it home and thought well it did sit for 2 years. so i went
and bought a new fuel filter. the old one was restricted. changed that.
nothing still cranked. I pulled the return line to check for fuel
pressure. it was fine. caught fuel to see if their was water in the
fuel. none present.
i took off the distributor cap and cleand th points. nothing.
it will crank right over. I pulled a spark plug wire and ground it to the valve cover. NO SPARK.
so i ask what would cause no spark?
please help a newbee out.
