I am a "proud" axiom owner (2002 XS 2wd) but unfortunately my Axiom is about a 3000lbs paper weight right now. Engine seized .... probably my fault for not getting the oil done often enough but this is now in the past.

I NEED A NEW MOTOR.

I spent some time looking around the forum and I did not see anyone specifically talking about the Axiom 3.5 V6. Does anyone have any good leads on where I can get one of these bad boys? I really like the car and want to fix it but I was blown away to discover that most places are asking for close to $3k for a new motor! WTH is that?!

sO, my question is two fold - first, anyone have any good leads on a rebuild / used or new motor that is not going to run a billion $ and second, why are these things so dang expensive?
