help with 94 amigo

I press the clutch to start, today I pressed the clucth and turned the key, all the light came on but the car didnt start, i know I changed the battery a couple of months ago so it couldnt be it, after a few minutes I started turning the ignition and again and slow and gradually it started, Can any one tell me what this means.

When you turned the key and it didn't start, what did it do? You said all the lights came on, but did the motor turn, or click, or do anything at all? If it didn't, you probably need either a starter or ignition cylinder.

iT CLICKED AND AFTER A FEW TRIES IT STARTED RIGHT UP,it has now been 2 days and it is working fine, however today the temp guage went to half and then came down a little bit as it always is, the engine when I started for a few days has been revving a little higher, i dont know if it is the cold since I live in the chicago area.

Sounds like your gonna be in the market for a new starter in the near future. They're right around $100 at most part stores. Don't know who your part stores are in Chicago, but I found the best price at Advanced Auto. The high idle in the morning is most likely the cold weather though.
