I bought a 99 Amigo a few years ago and just had it painted recently. The person who painted it saw that the truck is missing some of the identification labels on the front fenders and side pannel. The doors, bumpersand hood have their labels and where the labels are missing, there is no sign of previous crash, soldering or replacement of the body parts. The parts that are missing their label appear to be the original parts but I don't think this is normal and now have to worry about general traffic stops.I don't know what to do, I really love my Amigo and don't want to risk loosing it.

I don't understand. Ialso have a '99 Amigo, but I'm not aware of any ID labels on the fenders or panels. What's the issue if you don't have these?

From what I understand, cars usually come with identifying labels on all parts including the fenders and panels. My truck has a large label with barcode and the number on the inside of the drives side panel where the door closes. There are smaller refective identical labels on the 2 doors, the back door, the hood and inside the bumpers. The only place that there are no labels 2 front fenders and the pasenger side panel from what is visable. It seams strange that just those parts were left out or did the trucks just come like that? Down here and changed body parts (w\o labels) need to be registered with their purchase receipt or the vehiculecould be confiscated.
