Never saw any reply to my clutch question: " why does the pedal firm up after driving and engage higher?"
I figured it out: no free play at the pedal which didn't allow the master cyl to release completely.
You have to back off the switch/stop, set the pedal height with the adjustable rod, and then allow a couple mm of free play at the stop with the switch plunger in, of course.
This was a weird one.... Hope it helps someone
