86 Trooper C223T OIL LEAK
#1
Hello
I have taken my 86 Trooper II out of mothballs after two years and she fired up like she did in 86 However there is an oil leak when the engine is running. A steady drip, drip, drip from the passenger side of engine belowand near the area directly beneath and to the back of the oil filter area. Before I start to dismantle everything in that area to trace - is there a known failure prone to this area so that I can zero in quickly? Any thought or ideas are welcome!

Hi, found only one bulletin regarding Isuzu rear engine oil seal, so your leak may not be related. There is a UV dye you can add to engine oil and they using black light trace oil leaks to source. AS an alternative, and I don't recommend them personally, there are additives that swell gaskets and seals that might rejuvenate your engines vitals. Good luck

Following up late but with a conclusion. There is a small steel line (like injector line) that was leaking on the back rear of oil filter mounting plate. Real PIA to get off - The line was rubbing against a mounting bolt for filter housing to engine.
....and now you know the rest of the story.
