check your brake fluid level...the ABS light comes on due to low fluid also.

my fluid level is good and even removed the battery connection to reset all lights but still the light turns on as soon as I moved the vehicle.

I have recently experienced the same problem... Brakes are good, no ABS system that I am aware of (92' Rodeo 3.1L V6, 4WD) Mechanic says bad sensor for fluid level probably.

IF THE ABS LIGHT IS ON IT HAS ABS.IT MAYNOT HAVE 4W ABS.BUT IT HAS REAR ANTILOCK. LOOK UNDERNEATH ON THE DIFFERENTIAL YOU SHOULD SEE A SENSOR ON TOP.THEY GO BAD OFTEN ON THOSES YRS. AN THERE IS A DIAG CONNCTOR FOR IT ALSO TO FLASH CODES FOR IT...

Most common problem for those years is a broken wire for the abs sensor. They made the wires too short and it will break internally. Its usually broken wires at a connector near the frame right in front of the left rear wheel.

Take a look under your car to check out what really wrong with your brake (http://www.partstrain.com/ShopByDepartment/Engine/Brake) lights. A little browsing from the net for info and tips can surely help.
