My son's 1993 Rodeo just developed a strong fuel smell that can be detected as you approach the vehicle. When you lift the hood, it is even worse. What could be causing this smell? No leaks are noticable.

No leaks are noticable. n0walker 09-20-2005, 04:31 AM hard smells are usually caused by melting rubber hoses, a burning coolant, plugged </span>catatalytic converter (http://www.carpartswholesale.com/cpw/catalytic_converter.html), and leaks which you've said are not visible. or probably some problem with the fuel lines. those are just a few things to check.</span> Edited by: n0walker Patrick 09-23-2005, 06:40 PM has it been getting very poor fuel mileage? helpamom 09-24-2005, 09:42 PM yes, the mileage was worse.
