I've got an 86 Trooper, and I'm interested in mounting a roof rack on it. Looking for insight from others who might know where such a thing might be found, not OEM but a aftermarket mod that secures to the rain gutter on the truck?

 

I had a Thule round bar system on my 93 and 2000 troopers. It’s for sale. I used Thule landing pads that bolted to the screw holes hidden in the gutter. Look for removable covers just ahead of the B and D pillars. I have accessories, too.
Check for the mounting points on the roof of your 86 and I’ll take some measurements if you want.
