I have a 1990 Trooper. Lately I've been having this issue with the automatic transmission. Basically when I'm slowing down to stop at a light my "Check Trans" light comes on and starts flashing and it's almost as if the gears have slipped out. I have to put it in park, turn the engine off, then start it back up to get it cleared out so I can drive. I'm hoping this is a sensor or something simple instead of my transmission going. Ideas?
