TOD "check" light flashing
#1
I started my 2002 Trooper up in the morning after sitting in the garage
all night and all of a sudden the "check" light under my TOD display
was flashing. I really don't want to take it to a dealer and pay a
fortune, so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas, answers, or fixes?
I could probably fix it myself if I knew what to look for or how to
find out what it was. My four-wheel drive seems to be working fine but
my TOD lights don't seem to work like they used to, only the bottom two
light up and nothing else. I hate to drive it until I find out if it is
okay to drive or until I can fix it. I would appreciate any help or
suggestions. Thanks

No I haven't found anything out yet. I took it to Autozone and they couldn't read any faults so they must not have the right equipment for that kind of fault. I going to try to hold out for a reply here, at least for a while. Hopefully someone can give me some info. If you find anythiong out, I would appreciate any info you could give me. I'll keep you posted if I find anything out also.

Disconnect the battery for about 15-30 mins. This will reset the ECM (computer) Kinda like a reboot. See if that corrects it. I did mine couple weeks ago for a differant reason and I swear its getting better MPG and runs better.

You really need to have an skilled Isuzu tech to look at the TOD system before someone really screw things up. It will cost less if the tech that is working on it knows how the system works and had the correct equiptment to properly diagnosis it correctly the first time.

I needed to replace my battery so I left the battery disconnected for about an hour and then put the new battery in and it didn't help. I really hate to spend the cash taking it to a dealer, the closest is 100 miles away, what can I do myself? I'm pretty mechanically inclined, what does a master tech usually find in this situation? I would think that a large percentage of the time it is the same thing and I would really like to know what that is. The TOD system really does still seem to work, but the light keeps flashing. I say it seems to work, but I have never had a TOD system before, but the only difference I can tell between my 1994 and my 2002 is that it seems to slow me down going down hills. I put it in 4-wheel drive and it seemed to take me a few tries but it did seem to work. Any help from someone who knows and has probably seen this before (NCISUZUTECH)? Help a poor guy out ) Thanks
