Any opinions on brand of timeing belt kit to replace the OEM belt? The prices vary a great deal between brands such as Gates, contiTech, BECK/ARNLEY , Dayco, Cloyes, and others. The Cloyes is the most expensive at nearly double the Contitech and more than double the price of gates or Dayco. I do want one that will last equivilant to the OEM.

I replace the timing belt on my 1991 Tropper 4 years ago and I used a Dayco is a very good brand on belts (AC,Fan & Alt, etc).

 

i also replaced mine with a dayco. excellent quality belt, the only downside is its not marked for the timing marks so be aware. the expensive belts are marked. not much more difference.
