Starting problem
Hi i have a 94 trooper 4x4 the problem i got is that i star the van up and its fine after i shut it down and start it again it whon't start i have to wait like half and houre for the trooper to star again, what could it be?
I think you'll find that your compression is around 120 - 140 when it should be around 175 - 180. When the motor is cold you have good enough compression that it will start easily. When the motor gets hot the gap on the rings opens up and you have less compression and thus harder starting. Take all your spark plugs out and check all the compressions then, squirt a little oil into each spark plug hole and check the compression again. If the readings go up on the second try then your rings are worn, if the pressure readings don't go up then you have leaking valves. A compression gauge is your friend.
