Speedometer Isuzu Trooper

Speedometer Isuzu Trooper
Dear gents, ladies,
A few months ago I bought a Jeep CJ7 second hand. The previous owner installed an Isuzu Trooper engine of the type 4JB1-T with intercooler with the accompanying gearbox (which is running absolutely beautiful). After purchase I found out that the speed sensor was not working (the one that is plugged in now is probably the original one from Jeep) and therefore the speedodometer does not work.
I contacted an Isuzu dealer to ask if they had this type of speed sensors available but this should be ordered I was told. To know exactly which type of sensor would be needed, I had to provide the VIN number (chassis number). I have searched for this but unfortunately this number can no longer be found as the motor was bought elsewhere and the car it's from has been sent to the scrap yard years ago (no docs to be found unfortunately). I did find both the code of the engine and the one from the gearbox, but they couldn't use it to track down the piece I'm looking for.
Once I have found the right speed sensor, I have to make the connection to the original dashboard as well.
Is there any way to fix this problem / does anyone know what type of speed sensor I need?
I really hope someone has an idea / solution on this matter as it's the last thing I need to fix before getting my Jeep on the road!
Kind regards,
Bernd
