spark plug platinum or not
How is "double platinum" better than platinum? Sounds like marketing BS, though I am no expert. And if you don't think you need them, I wouldn't bother changing them. If your plugs are okay, you don't have much to gain by swapping in new ones. If your gaps are right and the electrodes are not worn or corroded and covered in carbon, whatever you have should be fine. Platinum doesn't necessarily produce a better spark, in my understanding. It is used because it doesn't wear as quickly as copper. I'd say keep your plugs (if they're good) and suggest your significant other super size it when you take him/her out with the money you save! (No, not suggesting that McDonalds is fine dining to you, just acknowledging that plugs don't cost that much.)
