I''ve got a 1995 Trooper with a stripped lug stud on the rear rotor. Is there an easy way (LOL)to pull the rotor off? The only way I see it is to pull the caliper and then break the 4 nuts at the shaft housing. Seems like an awful lot just to pull a rotor... help... please?

The caliper and caliper bracket are off, the rotor is not "sliding right off". I''ll try some gentle persuasion with a rubber mallet tomorrow. But will that get me to the studs? Or are they pressed through the axel hub?

Spray WD40 and let it soak for a few minutes....

then gently hammer away.

Thanks to all, I got the rotor off with some "persuasion". I did have to take apart most of the parking brake shoe just to get barely enough room to press out/in the stud. What a pain in the ... (well you know where), but this forum and some of the links posted made it do-able. Thanks again.

1995 Trooper, 179k and running strong.
