Parting out a bunch of first gen Troopers
Hey, my wife and I both drive first gen Troopers so over the years I've never been able to drive past one broken down in someone's yard without buying it from them as I figured I could never have too many spare parts. Anyway, as it turns out I've got way more than I'm probably ever going to use, and have learned that there are other Trooper owners out there that sometimes have difficulty finding the parts they need. If there's something you need drop me a PM and hopefully I can help you out. Cheers.

engine swap and drive train upgrade parts needed
By first generation are you refering to the Trooper II? I am putting a diesel into my 1986 2 door. Since the transfer case and transmission are known to be weak I wanted to use a later version and later differentials as well. So what might you have?

I've got a few options. I have a 5 speed from and '87 which uses the cable clutch or a 5 speed from an '88 which uses the hydraulic clutch. I could also sell you the differentials from the '87. I'm in Nortwest Arkansas.

I sent you a pm a few days ago about an update for a STrans and xfer casefor my '86.
since then I have gotten a lot of help and suggestions about my swap and found out that I need a special trans for the oil burner. However I did learn that I can put an '89 12 bolt rear end in my old girl and gain a better unit which has goodies like lockers available and also gain disc brakes. Do you have one of those? If so could you email me with a price and I'll see if I can find a way to get it shipped up here that won't cost me an arm and a leg. Thanks Dave

Johnny5ive,
I have a '91 trooper with a manual gear box. I have been looking for a replacement for the regular gear shift rubber boot that seals out road noise, vapors from the engine compartment and noise. Would you happen to have one that is intact enough to be useful? If not is there any work around that I might be able to kludge together?
Thanks,
Old Goat
