Need Isuzu Trooper Advice
Hello group. New here. I just picked up a 1990 Trooper 2.8L Got it for a good deal here in Oregon. Since home, it has been making a horrible noise. I disconnected the pipe from the exhaust manifold and there was no flange gasket at all.
I have no idea what the original one looked like so I went to Napa to get a new one. Getting home, it appears it may be the wrong one. The pipe on this vehicle isn't perfectly round but the flange gasket is. The pipe seems to be oblong shaped. Is this normal?
Could any potential leaks be fixed with exhaust system joint and crack sealer?
Tricky Isuza, my first ever.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated ... and if there are any vids out there to guide me regarding this year, make and model, this would be extra helpful.
Many thanks.

a lot of the time exhaust gaskets can create a seal even if the pipes they are sealing aren't the exact same. If it fits over the studs and the hole is not showing any of the metal of the exhaust manifold, it'll probably create a good seal and reduce that noise
