Leaves in fan motor 2000 Trooper

Leaves in fan motor 2000 Trooper
Have a 2000 Trooper. Had a noise in my inside fan motor for AC and Heat. Mechanic fixed but he has moved. Said it was leaves that got in the fan cage. Can anyone shed any light on how to access the fan cage to remove leaves that agin found their way into the cage? Thanks.
