I recently bought a 1995 Acura SLX version of the Trooper, 3.5 liter petrol,auto. It ran fine for a while and still does, but it has developed a loud knock at the front of the engine on the left side as you view the engine from the radiator. I was assured when I bought it that the timing belt,tensioner, and water pump had just been replaced. From my reading of the forums I believe the issue is either the timing belt, the tensioner, or both. The knock sounds like a typical rod knock, but it seems to be too high up on the engine for that and I haven't had any oil loss issues. Does my admittedly vague description sound like my assessment may be right? If so, is there a simple, non invasive way to determine if I am right? I am very poor and don't have the money to face this right now. HELP !! ( not with the money, just the advise)
