Default Help! Lousy turning radius '95 Trooper

Recently picked up a '95 Trooper and starting to have buyers remorse. Lot of problems & parts to replace. One problem is the steering. It won't turn either way to any of the 4 stops so I'm assuming it's the PS gear.
I'm not aware of any adjustment other than the arm and hub stops.
Anyone else have this issue or know how to solve?
Thanks,
Harry

Depending on the type of steering knuckle you have on your vehicle: I know your asking about an Isuzu. I am responding to your question from a master mechanics point of reference.
steering knuckles in general have a total movement left and right: this is accomplished by the use of a worm gear which engages the spline of the worms rotary movement or otherwise engages and produces a movement within a range of travel. sometimes for reasons unknown when a steering knuckle is installed the movement is lop sided left or right this is directly indicated by the physical position of the steering wheel and the physical direction of the vehicles wheels. for correct adjustment first alaign the wheels in as straight forward position as posible. disconnect the Knuckle and rotate the steering wheel to center with any emblems or cross bars leveled. NOW look at the Knuckle Verify that the movement arm is in the middle of its total travel left -to-right if not adjust it. some steering knuckles will allow for the contact spline to be dissengaged and the worm turned free......if this is possible count the number of turns the worm is limited to and place the spline engaged at the center of the counted rotations.(*HINT*) look for a hex nut with a slotted bolt on the outside of the steering knuckle the hex nut is the locking nut for the slotted bolt which engages the worm gear and locks in the movement. another way is to rotate your sterring wheel as far to one side as posible and count the number of turns to the other side. now divide this number of turns by 2 and position the wheel as straight forward a position as possible within this number of turns then pull the steering wheel and place it back onto the splines of it's shaft in a position that reflects a straight forward direction of the vehicle.

One more idea is that the pittman arm has come in contact with some object and gotten bent so a visual inspection is in order.

Turns out it is the gear. It's either a bad rebuild or wrong application. The splined gear turns with the worm gear completely to it's stops in either direction. No way to solve the problem except to replace the gear.
