i have found, through some research in a jeep forum, that a swap from a 2.8 L chevy to a 4.3 L chevy is very doable, especially when using an earlier TBI 4.3 engine.

now, to progress this info further; can anyone tell me if the rest of the existing drive line in an 91 trooper will mate up with the 4.3 L ?
what trans was used in the 91 trooper ?

if the trans was changed in a 4.3 L engine swap, what would be the effect to the transfer case ?
is there a space problem ? mounting issues ? drive shafts match up ?
i do know there are a different number of teeth on the 4.3 fly wheel (larger flywheel too), is the number of spline teeth in the center of the flywheel the same ? can the flywheels be swapped from the 2.8 to the 4.3 ?
