Clutch pedal problems
Hi everyone. I am having a problem with the clutch pedal in my 94 Trooper. When I let off the pedal it stops a couple of inches from where it should as if it is stuck. I can tap it once or twice and it will release completly to the top as it should. then when depressed again it will do the same thing. It also seems that if the pedal is not all the way to the floor it is not engaged completly. Is there an ajustment or something for the pedal? Any help is appreciated !

Whats wrong with it is that there is air in the lines. The clutch is pushed back by the force of the clutch master cylinder. If it get to low this also may happen. I would fill it with dot 3 hydraulic fluid and you may need to bleed the clutch. This is done via the bleeder valve on the clutch slave cylinder. Also the clutch pedal is spring loaded and maybe this is bad but since it doesn't seem like it is completely engaged when pressed down it is most likely not the spring that is bad. It is also possible that the clutch master cylinder is bad but I would keep it simple and try adding fluid and bleeding the system first.
i need some help with my clutch issue. i just bought a 94 trooper and the guy said the clutch is bad. he said he couldnt get the car into 1st gear. the he decided to slam the clutch pedal all the way to the floor and something popped. any suggestions on what i should look at first or what the problem may be?
